I start from the idea that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience and it’s this humanness that presents us with both unlimited abundance and challenges. Life can be complex and full at any age and most everyone is confronting an element of transition or change daily.  Change, as we have all heard at one time or another, is the only constant in life. I believe we are motivated to change and evolve in life, that the Universe is nudging us to live more fully, with greater presence and gratitude. While the process of growth may not be necessarily simple, it is attainable to all of us.  Most of us have or will face a loss, a breakup, anxiety, a depression or any number of challenging life events and passages.

Therapy is the collaborative path through. A path which reminds us that while what we are going through is real and perhaps emotionally hard, that we are not alone or powerless in the process. This work validates your current situation—whether it’s a feeling of being stuck, profound anger, sadness, a reluctance to let-go, a desire for “more” or a core limiting idea about yourself.  After validating and illuminating “what is,” we envision and create the new path forward.  In doing this type of work, we typically encounter our own blocks and patterns around self-worth, communication, conflict, intimacy, control, our voice and self-efficacy.

What if you understood yourself well enough to simply be kind and patient amidst the process of change or in self-healing? My work combines the evidence based effectiveness of cognitive behavioral constructs with mindfulness and solution-focused modalities.  Changing our lives, our perspectives, our stories and our ability to attract more abundance is a process. Engaging in this process and harnessing our personal power is some of the most important and rewarding work of our lives.

Life’s passages, particularly the ones that take us to our knees, are like a fire moving through a forest. Burning the understory, blackening the bark. After the fire, everything shifts; water flows differently and light pours through an altered canopy. For some time, the smell of smoke remains and the soil is dark and full of carbon. For a while, really, its a rather inhospitable place, but with rest and time things begin to change. Wild herbs and flowers push forth. Trailing vines climb and life returns. It is after our fires that our soils are made richer, where newness takes root and an abundance previously unimaginable curls up and blooms.

Winter lines the hollowand scents the entrance. With pine and sap, wilted rosemary and damp, beautifully brokenvine. And, she calls us, leads us, beckons, caresses us under, and asunder… we enter, turn inward…Surrender. Hibernation is less a sleep than it is a death…a dive, deep..a sit in your ownwater-filled and pondliner-lined freezer. You know the one… The grave, …
